Co-ed leagues

Postby ed_menac » Thu Jun 01, 2017 11:42 am

Hi,

Our league has always welcomed any skaters to train with us, however we have only ever played female open games and tournaments, and mostly we consider ourselves a 'womens league'.

However, we have been considering what would happen if our male members decided they wanted to participate in male or co-ed games / tournaments (British champs for example).

  • Would we need to officially register as a co-ed league? Would we need to change our UKRDA membership to reflect this?
  • Would we be able to enter female British Champs with a girl-only charter, and male Champs with a different, boy-only charter?

Thanks in advance for any information or help!

Hi, you would just let us know if your league name changes, as for British champs - you would have to contact them directly with that question.

We alas do not have anything to do with champs.

Bristol Roller Derby (a coed league) currently has both a women's and a men's team playing in Champs. We have to submit seperate team charters for this, as you would expect.
